Among all, our frontline healthcare professionals are the ones being the most beaten in this war. One physician airs out her frustration against fellow Filipinos for being stubborn in the middle of chaos.
With the enhanced community quarantine being imposed in the whole region of Luzon to fight Covid-19, the government, LGUs, military, healthcare workers, and private sectors are all busy contributing to help beat the unseen enemy.
Stubborn Filipinos
Among all, our frontline healthcare professionals are the ones being the most beaten in this war. One physician airs out her frustration against fellow Filipinos for being stubborn in the middle of chaos.
Facebook user, Catriona Grayish, the female physician, shared her encounter with disobedient Filipino patients. A female patient in her 20s came to the hospital to have herself tested for Covid-19 despite not having symptoms. She admits that she had a fever and was exposed to her boss, who is a Japanese national. The female patient is then accompanied by a male friend who is also in his 20s.
Worst followers
The scenario made the female physician wonder why is the female patient wishing to be tested but not the male friend when technically speaking, they are both exposed. Eventually, the physician learned that the guy already visited the same hospital the other day but was sent home and advised to do self-quarantine. The fact irked the physician, led her to speak her mind freely,
“Sorry to say but I think Filipinos are the worst followers.”
The physician then asked the male friend why he accompanied his female friend when he is advised to do self-quarantine. The guy responds that a female friend who is not symptomatic at the time has no company to be with. Then adds,
“Kesyo nakakotse naman daw sila.”
The physician vents out,
“See. Gustong-gusto pa talaga nating magreason out kahit alam mong mali na ang ginagawa mo and you are putting everyone at risk.”
She ended the post with a line that will surely strike everyone,
“Tama na please. Nakakapagod kayong pagsilbihan.”
Discipline is the key
Being part of the community, most of us are asked not to be just careful but be disciplined enough, especially with the directive of the government to strictly stay at home. Reality check, more people are still wandering outside; all have their agenda. In short, business as usual for most. For once, can we just be united in fighting off this pandemic by just only staying at home?
